How to Hem
2 hours, hands-on small group machine sewing class.
Beginner level: If you have a portable sewing machine, bring it along with an empty bobbin and your power cord/pedal. The studio will provide 2 sewing machines to share, if you don't currently have one.
In this introduction to hemming class, you will learn how to pin, measure, mark, cut and sew a basic rolled hem on a sewing machine. Students must know the basics of operating a sewing machine (i.e., thread, wind + load bobbin and sew a straight stitch) in order to take this class.
Have a pair of pants or dress, made of non-stretch material, with a straight hem that you are hoping to shorten? Bring that along too!

This class needs at least 2 people to run so sign up with a friend or share on social to help spread the word. If the class doesn’t reach it’s minimum capacity, we will notify you 2 days in advance and issue a refund for your payment.
