Next Up: Open Studio with MOTHER Shrub!
Join us at our newly-renovated studio to celebrate a joint business birthday bash with Meredyth of MOTHER Shrub - Cheers to 9 Years! Meredyth and Lisa met at Halcyon, a local vintage clothing store, and both started their businesses while working there. Top Stitch Mending was started 9 years ago and went full-time 7 years ago, hence celebrating our 6th full-time birthday last year.
MOTHER shrub’s award-winning drinking vinegars are made using a combination of responsibly sourced organic and non-GMO ingredients. A perfectly balanced tart and sweet, non-alcoholic mixer for spritzes, elixirs and cocktails. Meredyth plans to make a vanilla hickory pear lemonade with some floating herbs for a sample drink and will bring my usual line up to taste and sell.
Our Open Studio events are appointment-free walk-in opportunities - and this one is the last day to drop off mending until Lisa returns from her sew-baticle in May! Drop off your whole mending pile for pick-up on a later date, bring in a single item for an on-the-spot mini mend, (check out our Instagram highlight for how to prep your pile) or just come to chat about sewing and sustainability with us!

Open Studio
Open Studio is a monthly walk-in day where you can drop off your mending pile, have a single item with a simple repair -aka mini mend- fixed on the spot, or check us out to see what we're all about!
They typically are the second Saturday of the month from 11am - 3pm. We LOVE meeting new people, sew don't be shy and come say hi!
Follow us on Instagram for any updates or changes to the schedule.
-
Mini-mends will be available based on busyness levels. If you have a single item that needs one small mend (i.e. missing button, hook, tack, or tear *on seam*), we will do our best to fix it on the spot.
If it's busy, you may want to walk over to one of our amazing neighbors like Union Market or Pizza Bones, to have lunch while you wait.
Please prep any item you have as listed below in How to Prep Your Pile.
-
Be sure to prep your pile by washing your clothing, marking the damaged areas (next to / not on top of) with tape, safety pins or a detailed note.
Pop those clean items into a tote or grocery bag and label it with your name and contact info. Now you are all set to swing by!
**Remember, anything with moth holes MUST be put in a ziplock bag in the freezer for a minimum of 72hrs before drop off. Please bring these item(s) still inside their ziplocks- thank you!!
Are you a business with a passion for sustainability, reuse, or skill-sharing?
We would love to talk about hosting your business at an upcoming pop-up. Please reach out if you are interested or have a recommendation for who we should feature next at ‘Top Stitch & Friends’!
